Facilitator Training Information

Upon completion of the 3-day training course, potential facilitators are expected to have gained:
    • A firm understanding of the lesson study process
    • Techniques for facilitating lesson study via this online course
    • Comprehension of technical and managerial issues of the Lesson Study through a Mathematics Lens course in the VisibilityTM software
    • Capability to lead a lesson study course hosted by one of 22 California Mathematics Project regional sites
Who may participate in the facilitator training?
    • Potential facilitators are selected by one of the CMP or MPDI regional sites.  Names of recommended facilitator training participants are forwarded to the CMP Statewide Office by the regional site director or contact. 
How much does it cost to attend the training?
    • There is cost-recovery registration fee per participant.  This fee provides course registration and access to the LessonLab software, course materials, continental breakfast and lunch for 3 days.  Participants are responsible for providing their own travel and lodging needs.
Am I guaranteed enrollment as soon as I register online?
    • No, each training is limited to 25 participants.  You will receive an enrollment notification by email with payment instructions once your seat is confirmed.  Registrations are not finalized until payment is received.
Will I need to bring anything to the training?
    • Facilitators are expected to own or have access to a computer laptop (preferably with wireless capabilities) that can be brought to the training and used throughout the facilitation of the course.
